At the same time we were able to maintain our business at same level as of last year. This is largely due to our work in diverse industrial applications and segments. With Central Government's several new initiatives we expect a revival in market scenario leading to positive market trends in coming months.

Demand drivers for the company's offerings: As an engine manufacturer we are supplying to multiple segments within the industry. Therefore our demand is not depending on one industry only. We can see a downturn within the construction segment, but see an upward trend already.

Business opportunities at Excon: As a Volvo Group company, we have participated in all Excon shows in India and we hope to continue the trend. We are exhibiting our BS CEV IV product range at Excon. We welcome our existing as well as new potential customers to visit our stall and experience the new product and technology in advance. We are looking forward to discuss with our visitors and product specialists on the new technologies and the latest trends of the industry.

Key products at the expo: We will display our BS CEV IV ready products 8L D8 engine with SCR only after treatment system and 13L D13 engine. Volvo Penta will use its proven selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology for Indian OEMs for the stringent BS CEV IV emission regulations, which will come into effect in October 2020. SCR technology was first developed by Volvo Group in 2006. In 2011, Volvo Penta introduced the system for industrial off-road customers, further developing it in 2014. Today, Volvo Penta continues to meet tomorrow's environmental demands, as the same technology will now be used to comply with the stringent BS CEV IV emission regulations. For original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), this means no re-generation, easy installation, continuous optimised fuel consumption and low operating costs.

Meeting buyer requirement: We differentiate between two areas. The first is the engine design phase: We work closely with the global OEMs and their applications. In fact, our engine development program includes inputs from various OEM requirements at the design phase itself and then joins field validations for several thousands of hours. This way we ensure the application inputs are well captured and secured.

The second phase is the OEM application development: Our application engineers are involved with the OEM design team right from design phase of the equipment. They assist OEMs during the application engineering processes involving a review of OEM design requirements, discussions on suitable optional equipment, packaging studies, prototype installation, testing and validation. At the end, we have a common goal together with the OEM, a customer-oriented application that supports the end-user with their revenues.

Stall No: OD 24
