Dozco promises the outmost quality, reliability and timely after sales services
How do you assess the changing trends in the use of various attachments with excavators and loaders?
Construction equipment and attachments are facing an increased importance in demolition works in recent times. Since there is a scarcity of manpower and limited usage of explosives in mining and other demolition sites, customers are looking to depute machinery in their works.
In the demolition segment Dozco deals with rock breakers, hydraulic breakers, pedestal breakers and pulverisers.
After our rewarding experience in co-branding EDT-DIPL rock breakers and considering the big potential in the breaker market, Dozco has invested in a breaker production line at our Vizag plant. Dozco has entered the market of rock breakers manufacturing our own brand in 2013; we offer rock breakers with applicable carrier weights from 6 tonne to 35 tonne. Dozco promises the outmost quality, reliability and timely after sale services of rock breakers.
Dozco is also the authourised distributor of Indeco, Italy, hydraulic breakers of utmost superior quality with advanced technology. These breakers are completely hydraulic and the maintenance cost incurred is relatively less.
What is the total market in terms of value and units for rock breakers?
So far, from the date we launched breakers in 2010, we have sold more than 450 breakers to customers of various segments. Dozco supplied the largest breaker (Indeco, HP18000) working in India today. We are consistent and reliable in providing after sale services like timely spares parts availability and service back- up even to the largest breakers like HP 18000 (for 120-tonne excavators) which underlines our capability and strong on-site experience in this field. Our presence in the market is growing substantially and we are very sure that the Dozco brand is going to be top priority for any customer who is going to purchase a breaker.
Can you brief us on the range you offer?
Dozco offers Indeco hydraulic breakers for excavator tonnage of 2 tonne to 140 tonne, and Dozco rock breakers for excavator tonnage of 6 tonne to 35 tonne.
Dozco rock breakers were designed and created following the top quality guidelines already used in the manufacture of our famous breakers. Dozco has used the latest technologically advanced material in the manufacturing process, specially designed to withstand high levels of pressure wear and abrasion and prolonged use regardless of jobsite conditions. Our breakers come with the accumulator which eliminates pressure fluctuations and increases impact energy and therefore gives high production ability in rock-breaking works. Features like well-balanced brackets with fewer components, enabled with operator friendly functions, world`s best quality main valves and piston, outstanding power to weight ratio, top class less noise (box-bracket type) makes Dozco one of the best quality breakers available at a very competitive price in the market.
Indeco breakers have the revolutionary hydraulic system, the Intelligent Hammer, with self-adjusting power and frequency of the blows, according to the material to be broken. Higher productivity versus traditional fixed-blow breakers, dampening system to eliminate the stress to the excavator and to reduce the noise level, and a new casing has made the Whisper version of Indeco breakers among the quietest in the market.
The demolition segment is still in a nascent stage in India. Has this dampened your growth prospects in the rig-mounted hydraulic attachments?
In recent years, breakers have been projected as a strong presence, one of acute requirement for contractors. Customers are using rock breakers for secondary breaking as well as primary breaking. Rock breakers can increase productivity, reduce working time and incur relatively less costs. All you need is a rock breaker attachment for your existing machine to get the work done. When it comes to pulverisers, with the rapid increase in construction projects that include demolition works, the customer obviously finds a pulverizer helpful where an excavator alone can't do the work.
How do you look at the competition, especially in the rock breaker segment and what makes Dozco different?
There are many brands of breakers in the market which are available at a very low price and of low quality without service support; this affects the market scenario. When it comes to Dozco, our segmentation according to the customer's requirement, quality and after sale services makes us stand out among the competition in the rock breaker segment. Dozco made significant progress in recent years. With its prompt service back up and spares availability, Dozco is headed forward to achieve a better market share in this segment.
Tell us about your dealer network and services provided to the customers.
Right from the beginning Dozco has been always associated with providing complete solutions and not just selling our products. Our associates have in-depth knowledge of various applications and work closely with various customers of market segments like construction, mining, irrigation, etc. We get better feedback from our customers which help us in extending our services better.
Dozco has a wide network of 22 branches all over India to support its customers and to reduce the time laps of our supplied equipment. With its extended network, Dozco is now able to provide service and spares in very little time. Dozco has services engineers and technicians at all of its branches, a warehouse in Visakhapatnam from where all the spares are dispatched to the branches. We provide our after sale service on AMCs and FMCs also. All the spare parts of our rock breakers and most of our carriers are readily available at our branches.
Are there any plans for a new range, or new products other than breakers?
Dozco has started manufacturing chisels that are compatible with all kinds of breakers working in India.
Which are the major segments in Dozco's focus for its attachment business?
Rock breakers and chisels are the major segments for us in the attachment business. Our attachment line-up also includes hydraulic breakers, pulverisers and quick couplers.
Has the slowdown in the market impacted the attachment segment?
Because of the prevailing conditions like unstable political situation, economic downslide, uncertainty in mining and construction industry, the market is witnessing acute slowdown. Further, the market has been uncertain, volatile and slow. Sectors important for us are characterised by delays or negative growth in recent times. In addition, imports are becoming more expensive. This has also impacted the attachment segment. However, we are going ahead with our marketing plans to maintain a consistent share in the breaker segment.
Inflation and currency fluctuations are the major problems we are facing. Due to the prevailing economic conditions, new projects are not coming up and existing projects are on hold or are cutting down their project costs. This poses a great threat to the mining and constructions machinery market. We are expecting a recovery at least within one year.
