Engineered for Success
Concrete pumping at Putzmeister has come a long way since its founder Karl Schlecht designed a mortar machine in 1958 based on his diploma thesis at the University of Stuttgart. The equipment major, with its headquarters at Aichtal, is today the acknowledged leader and global supplier of concrete machines. As witness from its chessboard of operations Putzmeister has a presence in almost all the major countries of the world. The company also has its own manufacturing facilities in Germany, Turkey, USA, Brazil, China and India.
Worldwide focus
With the principles of ?Serving, Improving and Creating Values?, Putzmeister has established its footprint in the Indian market through Putzmeister Concrete Machines, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Putzmeister Holding GmbH, Germany. The core competency of the company lies in its ?Products, Quality and Service?. The company?s state-of-the-art manufacturing plant is located at Verna in Goa. The unit which became operational in 2007, today manufactures an entire range of internationally acclaimed equipment and machinery, including the world?s largest working concrete machine M 70. From its Goa facility, Putzmeister Concrete Machines not only caters to the domestic market but also exports to Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Nepal and other neighbouring countries as well as South East Asia, Japan, South Africa and the Americas. Putzmeister pumps have been deployed at various prestigious projects and are the first choice of real estate and infrastructure companies across India.
Great reach
As the pioneer of research and development in concrete pumping technology, Putzmeister offers the latest and most comprehensive range of concreting solutions. It has achieved landmarks in both vertical and horizontal pumping technologies. Not only does Putzmeister produce the most technologically advanced machines, but it also manufactures one of the world?s largest working concrete machines, the M 70. Indeed, there is overwhelming evidence of the reach of the German concrete pump manufacturer, as witness the classic case of the employment of its equipment at the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. Constructing the world?s tallest building would well-nigh have been impossible without concrete being pumped vertically to a record height of 601 m by Putzmeister?s super high pressure concrete pump. Putzmeister machines have also set other records in terms of long-distance concrete conveying (over 2015 m) at the Le Refrain construction project in France, and for the longest continuous pour in America early this year.
Market leader
Putzmeister has confirmed its leading market position by displaying a remarkable and innovative stand design, as well as new age marketing strategies even at the recently held bC India Show at Greater Noida. Explaining the premium experience the company offered its clients and partners, Wilfried A. Theissen, Managing Director, Putzmeister Concrete Machines, said, ?Our main goal was to represent Putzmeister?s unique global image and to give our partners and clients the ?premium feeling of the Elephant.?
Even when it comes to new launches, Putzmeister knows how to leave its imprimatur. Boom pumps with a unique technical feature called ?One Sided Support? (OSS) were exhibited in such a way at the show that customers could immediately understand the advantage it offered at space constrained job sites. The feature keeps in mind the difficulties faced on many metro and urban projects from truck-mounted concrete pumps which block service roads and create traffic congestion. This innovation ensures smooth functioning of the construction and also allows the operator to extend the outriggers only where the concrete placement is required. The 36.04 customized boom pump with the unique OSS feature which was a major attraction at bC India was also a sell out. The company set another benchmark with the display of the first-ever customized boom pump in India - a Holi themed truck-mounted boom pump. The concrete equipment major presented the technical and distinctive features of the batching plants through intimate one-to-one meetings with the clients during the bC India expo. Putzmeister plans to launch its batching plants within the next two-three months.
Project perfect
Owing to their unique features and distinct qualities, the machines have been successfully installed on a wide range of prestigious construction projects including metro rail, expansion and modernization of international airports at Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Bengaluru. The equipment also support the construction of various power plants, hydro electric projects, LNG tanks, refineries, ports, roads and bridges. From high rise concrete pumping at Gati Project, Sikkim of 2 km vertical pumping to the horizontal pumping of 320 m at Palais Royal Project, Mumbai the list of infrastructural achievements for Putzmeister is never-ending. The other noteworthy projects supported by Putzmeister include the Reliance Industries? ?Petrochemical project at Jamnagar, Gujarat which has utilized 20 concrete boom pumps. The project is presently expanding into Phase-3 which will take about three years to be completed with a total concrete pour of 24,00,000 cu m. At present, 20 boom pumps, including sixteen BSF 36.09 and four BSF 32.09, are working on the site. As and when the project accelerates, more machines will be brought in to complete the pour.
Sales & service network
Putzmeister has a countrywide sales and service network with regional and local offices all over India. The company is on a constant mode of expansion to meet the nation?s growing infrastructure demands, helping customers access competent and cost-effective concrete pumping solutions that bring down the overall cost of operations considerably. In addition to its technologically advanced Products, Putzmeister offers its customers competent advice and customized concepts. It also imparts training on all aspects of concreting technology to its customers to spread awareness about the advantages of mechanization and automation of construction technology in India.
Putzmeister ensures a solution for every challenge - and the elephant is now looking forward to taking a ?Great Leap? in 2015.
