Italian CE market grows in 2021
In the twelve months of 2021, 22,000 construction machines have been placed on the Italian market, up 30 per cent if compared to 2020. Data were presented by Unacea in a digital press conference held last 1st February. The digital press conference, sponsored by GIC - Italian concrete day, hosted the speech of CER, Centro europa ricerche, who commented on the market results. In more detail, 21,107 earthmoving machines (+30 per cent) and 893 road machines (+26per cent) were sold.
Positive the foreign trade, according to the last Unacea-CER Foreign trade report. Indeed, exports between January and October 2021 reached Euro 23 billion, up 19per cent compared to the same period of 2020. Positive the imports in the same period with an increase of 42 per cent, for a value of Euro 1.2 billion. The trade balance remains in surplus of more than Euro 1 billion, a surplus that grows at 2 per cent annually.
“The year 2021 ends with a definite positive result for the construction equipment industry,” said Luca Nutarelli, secretary-general of Unacea. “The all-year-round growth has helped to recover what has been lost since the crisis of 2008. Furthermore, expectations for 2022 remain positive. On the other hand, the inflation dynamics, the rising cost of energy, and the supply chain disruption risk compromising the current phase of growth, reducing the profitability of companies in the medium term.”
