L&T New Service and Training Centre
L&T Construction and Mining Machinery has unveiled an ultra-modern service and training centre for repair and overhaul of construction and mining equipment and their components located at Kanchipuram, about 60 km from Chennai, on the NH4. Inaugurating the new service centre JP Nayak, Chairman, Machinery & Industrial Products and former Member of the Board, Larsen & Toubro said, ?This service centre built with state-of-the-art infrastructure forms an important part of L&T?s product support activities in construction and mining equipment industry, and provides one-stop solution to customers in South India. L&T has always been considered as the best service provider in this industry, and I am sure this facility will further strengthen our service capabilities.?
The service centre is spread over an area of 33,500 sq m and houses specialised machinery and exclusive bays to provide comprehensive, reliable and cost-effective repair and service solution for high-value equipment like dozers, loaders, dumpers and excavators deployed in the construction and mining industry. The facility conforms to the exacting standards of L&T?s principals, viz. Komatsu and Scania in terms of safety and quality compliance.
The campus also houses the training centre - a centralised facility with lecture halls, discussion rooms, assembly and simulator labs and e-learning centre. The training centre is futuristic in approach and is involved in imparting hands-on training to operators, customers and dealers in equipment maintenance, repairs and diagnostics encompassing the diverse portfolio of models offered by L&T under Komatsu and Scania brands.
This facility is one among the five full-fledged service centres established by L&T for the construction and mining equipment industry. Kanchipuram centre caters to the exclusive needs of both the corporate customers and the retail sector located in South India with application in granite, blue metal quarry, irrigation, iron ore, and construction besides coal and cement industry.
SR Subramanian, Executive Vice President and Head-Machinery SBG, L&T, and Arvind K Garg, Vice-President-Construction & Mining Machinery, L&T, along with other executives from L&T participated in the programme. Senior management team from Komatsu India and Scania Commercial Vehicles India, who are L&T?s partners in this industry, also took part in the event.
