Koul joined Timken in 1990 as a production engineer in its Jamshedpur plant. Since then, he has served in leadership positions within the rail and supply chain organisations. In 2007, he was named general manager and site lead of the Jamshedpur plant. Two years later, he was named general manager of supply chain operations in Asia working out of Wuxi, China, and in 2011, he was named director of manufacturing and supply chain management for Asia based out of China.

Before joining Timken, Koul served with Union Carbide India as a production supervisor and also as an engineer with an urban environmental agency in India. He holds a Bachelor?s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science and a Master?s Degree in Business Management from Xavier Labour Relations Institute.
