Our trucks come with fuel smart technology
At Excon 2017, Mahindra pavilion included representation from its various businesses.
Vinod Sahay, CEO, Mahindra Truck and Bus Division, Mahindra Construction Equipment, shares more on the key offerings for the construction and infrastructure sector.

Offerings at Excon
We have presented a sort of one Mahindra family here. In terms of construction equipment, we have showcased backhoe loaders and graders. As for commercial vehicles, the display includes BLAZO 25 Tipper, BLAZO 31 Tipper, BLAZO 31 Transit Mixer along with DI3200 Jayo Fuel Dispenser.

Smart focus
BLAZO series of vehicles offer fuel smart technology, which would be beneficial to customers. Fuel Smart technology offers on demand power to customers. Customer can vary the power or torque of vehicle based on the combination of operating load and road conditions. This offers the customer higher fuel-efficiency or quicker turnaround time based on the operating condition requirements. The fact that we have offered GUARANTEES when it comes to superior mileage and also for service and spares support, points not only to our product's technical superiority, but also to the fact that we will be able to deliver higher uptime leading to better earnings.

Further, we have a unique product on display called the mobile fuel dispenser - a 2.5 kilo litre diesel dispenser certified by the ministry for usage. On the construction equipment side, we stand number three in the industry for our backhoe loaders. And, at Excon, we have launched a 90 HP backhoe. Also, couple of months ago, we had introduced the innovative low cost graders.

This apart, all our other equipment is supported by telematics, which has been developed in-house. Telematics helps monitor the driver behaviour, and can be programmed for the customer to feed in data such as the speed at which the tipper needs to move or set its working hours. Going forward, we will also integrate alarms for vehicle health.

Supporting services Apart from the standard annual maintenance contract, we offer what is called an on-site support. Onsite service with guaranteed uptime availability for its tippers is something that Mahindra provides and we are doing quite well there.
The point is to ensure that machines are available for maximum utilisation. Also, in the construction equipment ecosystem, one equipment is the need to another. The excavator does not get fully utilised if there are no tippers to move the item away, and so on. So the need is for all equipment to work in tandem and in full productivity.
