PPS receives Atlas Copco’s Distributor of the Year Award
Giving the award, Alexander Pavlov, General Manager, Atlas Copco Compressors, said: “As a Premier Distributor, PPS has achieved outstanding results over the year that have seen a 90 per cent growth in new equipment sales, a 28 per cent increase within its service business, and the completion of several high-value major projects. This progress can be attributed to the company’s ethos of hard work, a great partnership, and continued investment in the business.”
A premier distributor of Atlas Copco Compressors for 31 years, PPS’ remit is to offer energy-saving advice and solutions to manufacturers and other industries with applications that rely on compressed air and related systems within their processes. Its specialist offering includes compressors, vacuum pumps, nitrogen generators, chillers, HVAC equipment, pneumatics, pipework, ducting, and assembly tools.
At the same time, the company’s factory-trained service engineers keep everything running smoothly with service contracts and regular preventative maintenance to improve productivity, reduce energy usage and extend the lifecycle of users’ equipment.
To expand regional operations from its HQ in Brighouse, West Yorkshire, PPS has matched Atlas Copco’s own progressive strategy with a focus on organic growth, supplemented by acquisitions over the last few years. Its branch operations now extend to Leigh in Greater Manchester, Sheffield, Derbyshire, and Hull ? all of these sites located close to M62 and M1 transport links to serve customers throughout West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Greater Manchester and the Hull and Humber region.
Now numbering around 90 employees on all five sites, the continued support and investment of PPS’s parent company in premises and people has helped the company to grow and ensure a strong future. The Sheffield site alone has seen a 9000 sq. ft expansion and, not forgetting its roots, the company believes in supporting its local community and is running an apprenticeship programme to develop future talent.
The company attributes much of its success not only to working in close collaboration with Atlas Copco but also to the positive UK manufacturing environment where many firms are reshoring and increasing production. Alongside this, customers are investing in sustainable production, and energy efficiency is a key driver. PPS offers energy auditing services that quantify energy savings and helps customers to make informed choice.
Commenting on his company’s accolade, Ian Harrison, Managing Director of PPS, said: “It’s been a tough two years and to finish as strong as we are now is a testament to the team around us. It’s the people who make our business and to win this award is quite an achievement, as there are a lot of strong distributor partners in the Atlas Copco family.”
